Natural flake graphite can be divided into crystalline graphite and cryptocrystalline graphite. Crystalline graphite, also known as scaly graphite, is scaly and flaky crystalline graphite. The larger the scale, the higher the economic value. The layered structure of flake graphite engine oil has better lubricity, softness, heat resistance and electrical conductivity than other graphites, and it is mainly made of high-purity graphite products raw materials. The following editor of Furuite Graphite introduces the excellent chemical properties of fine flake graphite:
The flake graphite is flake-like, thin leaf-like crystalline graphite, with a size of (1.0 ~ 2.0) × (0.5 ~ 1.0) mm, a thickness of 4 ~ 5 mm and a thickness of 0.02 ~ 0.05 mm.. The larger the scale, the higher the economic value. Most of them are disseminated and hemp-like distributed in rocks, with obvious directional arrangement, which is consistent with the direction of bedding plane. The content of flake graphite is generally 3% ~ 10%, with a height of more than 20%. It is often associated with minerals such as Shi Ying, feldspar and diopside in ancient metamorphic rocks (schist and gneiss), and can also be seen in the contact zone between igneous rocks and limestone. Scaly graphite has a layered structure, and its lubricity, flexibility, heat resistance and electrical conductivity are better than those of other graphites. It is mainly used as a raw material for making high purity graphite products.
According to the fixed carbon content, flake graphite can be divided into four categories: high purity graphite, high carbon graphite, medium carbon graphite and low carbon graphite. High purity graphite is mainly used as flexible graphite sealing material instead of platinum crucible for chemical reagent melting and lubricant base material. High carbon graphite is mainly used in refractories, lubricant base materials, brush raw materials, electric carbon products, battery raw materials and so on. Medium carbon graphite is mainly used in crucibles, refractories, casting materials, casting coatings, pencil raw materials, battery raw materials and fuels. Low carbon graphite is mainly used for casting coatings.
